This is the comparison of 2.8mmF1.4(PZ) and 1.7mmF2.0(PX) on DMK33GX290e 1920x1080/54p,
2.8mm PZ captured 12 meteors in one night brighter than Mag 1
while
1.7mm PX captured 3 meteors in one night brighter than Mag -1
Below is the sample of one frame image, peakhold, UA2 profile setting, and the movie of one same meteor.

日時: Tue Jun 25, 2019 6:15 pm 記事の件名: Successfull using RTSP H.264 cameras for meteor observing |
|
|
Dear SonotaCo and all,
In search of information on the possibility of using IP cameras for observing meteors, the European project GLOBAL METEOR NETWORK was discovered, successfully using RTSP H.264 cameras together with their own software. Apparently, they managed to overcome the limitations of RTSP, which allows to obtain data on astrometry, photometry and orbital parameters for each meteor. The source code of the software is publicly available on GitHub, which can be useful for analyzing the mechanism of its work with RTSP.
Unfortunately, I do not know whether it is possible to publish links to third-party projects here, therefore I will not do this. The link to the project site is easy to get in Google for the query "GLOBAL METEOR NETWORK". The site has a lot of useful information about the technical side of the project.
