Hi Bill,
Thank you for your response.
I captured a meteor with double-peaked light curve.
It also shows noticeable fragmentation.
Best Regards,
Yasunori

Hi,
It's been a couple of years since I captured a meteor with the same characteristics as the first in this thread. Proving to be quite rare!
It exhibits the same spitting and ablation of two main components. In the zoomed in crop there might be several fragments visible but it's difficult to be sure at this resolution.

Best regards,
Bill.

Hi all,
I also captured a similar phenomenon. Please see attached file. The video clearly shows the detached light fragment of the meteor, slowing down faster than the main particle. Apparently, the phenomenon is quite rare: in eight years of observation, this is the only case that I was able to capture.

Hi Skymagic,
Sorry for the delay in replying, I have been busy in a new job.
Your video is really excellent . I think using the longer focal length lenses is really worthwhile to reveal the dynamics of the meteor. It does take a great deal of patience but it is worth it!
Likewise I have only recorded a few over a similar time scale.
Best regards,
Bill.
